What a COVID-19 Safe Zone Looks Like at Regenexx Tampa Bay

Your health and safety are priorities for us at Regenexx Tampa Bay. We are taking every recommended precaution to protect everyone from the risk of COVID-19. Expanded telehealth services that prevent the need for an office exam in cases where in-person service is not a necessity, is part of the solution.

But if you prefer to see a physician in person, you may rest assured our facility goes above the CDC guidelines regarding coronavirus precautions, along with the rulings of other official public health authorities.

Max COVID-19 Safety Zones Keep Our Patients Safe

The following are the steps we take to create safe zones for our providers and patients:

1. Automobiles are utilized as waiting rooms to prevent potential exposure in close quarters:

When patients arrive for appointments, they are asked to wait outside in their vehicles, when possible. This prevents risk of exposure to the virus due to time spent in a confined area with other patients.

2. Temperature and oxygen level checks are required for patients; screening questions asked:

When patients arrive, we ask questions about health and travel, in keeping with CDC guidelines. Body temperature checks and oxygen level assessment help screen for COVID-19, so affected patients may seek appropriate treatment, without creating potential exposure for other patients.

3. Air filtration with UVC light has been added:

Our office contains air filtration with UVC light, which has been shown to kill viruses, for additional protection.

4. Staff members are screened and tested:

In addition to having their temperature and oxygen level assessed daily, all staff members are tested weekly for prior exposure to COVID-19 with antibody testing kits.

5. Masks are provided:

All health care providers and patients are required to wear an N95 mask when on facility premises, to help protect against the spread of the virus. We also provide these masks for our patients.

6. Frequent hand washing is a requirement:

Both staff and patients are required to frequently wash their hands thoroughly and to use hand sanitizer. Hand washing is one of the best ways to prevent virus spread.

7. Common surfaces are regularly disinfected:

Surfaces that may be touched by providers and patients are frequently cleaned and disinfected with medical-grade anti-viral disinfectant.

8. Social distancing is enforced:

Providers and patients are required to respect social distancing guidelines.

What About High-Risk Patients?

People who are 65 or over, and those of any age who suffer from severe medical conditions that may impair their immune system, including, but not limited to, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, cancer, organ transplant recipients, or those on medications that suppress the immune system.

If you believe you are in the high-risk category, this site can help you decide how to protect yourself. If you prefer to opt for a telehealth visit, the following is a basic explanation of a telehealth consultation.

The Telehealth Option

If you feel an office visit isn’t needed, or have reservations about coming in, telehealth consultations are still available, even though we are now open for elective procedures. Office visits via your phone, tablet, or computer are now approved for reimbursement by most insurers, including Medicare. Should your insurance not agree to cover the cost of a telehealth consultation, we have made our fee affordable for the service.

COVID-19 is a new disease. We are learning more each day, but it will take some time to fully understand this virus, all the ways it may affect its victims, details of its transmission.  But we at Regenexx Tampa Bay, Florida’s premier Non-surgical Regenerative Medical Center, keep up on the latest research and implement the most current guidelines from the CDC, WHO, and state and local health departments, to protect our patients.

A visit to our office is as risk-free as we can possibly make it. There is no need to suffer from troubling symptoms due to fear of exposure to the virus. But if you still have reservations or if it’s not easy for you to make it to our office, telehealth consultation is often an option, so please feel free to contact us.
